Ah, Paris. One of our favourite cities for that laid-back cafe and bistro lifestyle. What we wouldn’t give to be there people-watching while sipping on a glass of French red right now. The next best thing we suppose (if you’re in New York at least!) would be Racines NYC. The New York outpost of the famed Parisian hotspot run by Frederic Ducaa French native from a small town near Marsailles.

After earning a Michelin Star at L’Instant d’Or in Paris, Duca upped stumps and moved to New York to spread the Parisienne love for fine fare. Duca’s French Manhattan based wine bar comes equipped with all the musings of a quintessential French hangout with an industrial style bent. Brick walls, rustic wooden benches, classic French bistro bar stools and bentwood chairs and an ornate ceiling all are reminiscent of Paris bar in the Marais – but the rooms simplicity and modernity help this space fit right in among New York’s growing design oriented dining scene.

A changing menu based on seasonal produce allows for dishes like red snapper with mussels, foraged Oregon wild morels, and English peas with lobster and vanilla oil with Duca’s menu focusing on the freshest ingredients available leaving critics to do nothing but sing the chef’s praises.
