The Apollo | Potts Point

Thanks to The Apollo restaurant, Greek food is no longer confined to the all too sad late night binge kebab after a few too many vinos. In true Greek style, The Apollo is a collaboration between family friends and a long association based on a cultural connection. The duo behind the Macleay Street restaurant in Potts Point is Jonathan Barthelmess, former head chef of Coast and Manly Pavilion, and Longrain’s Sam Christie.

The interior refurb is the product of architect George Livissianis who has created a dining space that exudes an essence of having survived the test of time in a hot, dusty, rocky Greek landscape with historical imprints laced through the rough hewn concrete surfaces.

Deriving its name from the swarve Greek God, Apollo, who was known as a lover of a good time, this restaurant gives you exactly that. This Australian Greek dinning experience offers both the scintillating flavours of the Mediterranean along with the warm hospitality and joviality that the Greeks are famous for – sans the breaking of plates!
