Neige d’Eté has no sign. There is nothing but the aura of style that emanates from the fabulously pared back exterior to entice you inside to take in the white washed walls, cement floors, soft linen curtains, limed oak timbers and the fresh bouquets of flowers. This Parisian restaurant feels like a bright country-side oasis tucked away on a lovely little street in the 15th arrondissement in Paris. The kitchen at Neige d’Eté offers an unassuming dining spot helmed by Japanese chef Hideki Nishi – formally of the George V Hotel.

Designed by Atelier ES (an agency who also designed Goyza Bar, Sara, Pages) this unknown spot serves impeccable modern French cuisine. The grey toned wood is subtle and calming, and provides the perfect contrast to the razor sharp cuisine. With a menu full of vegetables from Annie Bertin, fish from the Etel auction, and lobsters from Vincent Doucet, (all well respected suppliers) it’s hard to imagine Neige d’Eté lacks freshness.

Alcantara benches and discreetly hidden drawers are the epitome of the subtle sophistication expected from an upscale Paris restaurant. While of course we could absolutely picture ourselves having a leisurely lunch with good girlfriends over a glass of fine French wine here, we are also seriously considering adding that stealth utensil drawer to our own kitchen table – aren’t you?
